…in November 2016 Alchimia has collaborated with Federica Marcaccini – a planner committed to the organisation of very special events that always include an active participation of the participants, to create experiences that add to their vision of life.
Alchimia took part in one of Federica’s events by organising a jewellery workshop for the spouses of the Reply Wood Meeting 2016. The workshop took place at the Tepidarium Roster inside the Horticultural Garden of Florence.
The Tepidarium is an amazing newly renovated building with underfloor heating and cooling system, one of the largest greenhouses in Italy, designed in the second half of the 19th century by the architect Giacomo Roster.
‘A ring of one’s own’ was the title of this ambitious project designed especially for the Reply Wood Meeting. The goal of the workshop was to lead a consistent group of people, not used to work with their hands in creative ways, to design and manufacture one ring, and thus experience the pleasure and satisfaction of making.
Guided by 10 Alchimia teachers the 120 participants each realised an original and individual ring with semiprecious stones, pearls, glass beads and silver wire.
The tools used for the manufacture were handed over in single kits, precisely realised for the event, in elegant red linen and black velvet, ready to be taken home for further use.
A great success for all, participants, organisers and teachers alike and proudly everybody could wear her/his own colourful creation.
